Senior Wealth Manager

Danette W. Starks

Throughout my professional journey, my passion for assisting others has been my guiding force. After completing my master’s degree at Mississippi State University, I ventured into the Financial Services Industry, drawn by my prior experience in banking and my desire to make a difference.

Joining Edward Jones in February 2001, I witnessed the tragic events of September 11, which deeply impacted me and highlighted the significance of establishing meaningful relationships with clients. It was a great honor to support individuals during those challenging times.

Transitioning to Nickels Wealth in 2010, I have continued to prioritize fostering strong client relationships and offering guidance on crucial financial matters. I enjoy assisting my clients in navigating life-changing events like retirement, planning for Medicare and Social Security, college planning, the birth of a child, divorce, the loss of a loved one.   I strive to provide attentive support and advice to help shape my clients’ financial futures.

Married for 27 years to William Starks, we are blessed with three children – Sadie, Sophie, and Sam.  A native “country girl” from Bartahatchie, I now proudly call Columbus my home. When I’m not working, you can find me cheering on our children or enjoying leisure time at Smith Lake. We are active members of First Methodist Church of Columbus, where I have served on the Finance Committee. Additionally, I am a life member of the Columbus Junior Auxiliary where I served as Ball Chairman for the JA Charity Ball. I am also  a member of the Heritage Sports Boosters and have previously served as a Dance Sponsor for the Heritage Academy Dance team.
